Overview

Currently Lieutenant Matthew Dear and Officer David Lopez are assigned primary duties as the CID Detective / Investigator. Duties include:

• Ensuring that all crimes are investigated
• Taking statements
• Collecting and preserving evidence
• Acquiring arrest warrants
• Reviewing cases
• Filing cases with various prosecutors
• Preparing the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) for the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI).
• Assisting crime victims
