Ad Valorem Property Taxes

Overview

The City of Lytle levies a property tax (also known as Ad Valorem). The Property Tax Rate is made up of two individual levies: 1) Maintenance & Operation, and 2) Interest & Sinking (also known as debt service).

Ad Valorem taxes in Lytle represent 20% of the General Fund’s revenue.

Anyone owning real property in the City of Lytle is responsible for paying Ad Valorem Property Taxes. Taxes should be paid not only to the City of Lytle but also to the school district and the county you reside in. Taxes usually become due the first day of October each year and are payable through January 31 of the following year before becoming delinquent.

All City of Lytle Taxes should be paid at the Atascosa County Tax Assessor-Collector Office of Loretta Holley in Jourdanton.
