Policy on Racial Profiling

Racial Profiling

In 2001 the Texas Legislature enacted the a law that prohibited racial profiling. Law enforcement agencies were required to adopt policies preventing racial profiling and collect and report data related to the ethnicity of those stopped.

If you believe you are a victim of racial profiling by the Lytle Police Department you can file a complaint.

The definition of racial profiling:

A law enforcement initiated action based on an individual’s race, ethnicity, or national origin rather than on the individual’s behavior or on information identifying the individual as having engaged in criminal activity.
