11/5/2020 at approximately 11:00 am a malfunction occurred at the City of Lytle’s main gas transmission line located in La Coste, Texas. The cities gas contractor, CPS Energy responded to the scene. It was determined that a trailer would need to be brought in to supply the gas for the city. Due to the time this will take, the gas system for the city will have to be shut down. CPS Energy has assembled a strike team that will go out and shut off all gas meters. Once the gas system is restored the CPS Energy strike team will go back out and reestablish each customer’s gas service. If your location gets missed or there was no one there when the strike team came around you will need to call 210-353-2222. An adult with full access to the property must be on site.
The estimated time frame for the gas system to be restored and the CPS Energy strike team to start the process of turning customers back on is 9:00 pm or 10:00 pm. Please be patient with this time frame as this is a best-case scenario. CPS Energy will have crews in the city throughout this process. The CPS Energy strike team will be driving CPS Energy vehicles and wearing a CPS Energy uniform.
