Matthew Dear joined the Lytle PD in November 2002. Matthew holds a Master Texas Peace Officer License as well as a Police Instructor License. Matthew serves as the Asst. Fire Marshal and holds certifications from the Texas Commission on Fire Protection as an Arson Investigator and Fire Inspector. After 20 years of full-time police service, Matthew accepted the position of City Administrator. He is the first person to fill that position since it was eliminated in the mid-1980s. He remains a commissioned Lt. / Asst. Fire Marshal, just on reserve status.
